LILLIE MAE ROBERSON


NASHVILLE –– Lillie Mae Roberson, 95 of Nashville, died on Sunday, February 17, 2013.

She was born in Nashville to the late William Boise Battle and Lou Jennie Arrington Battle on November 29, 1917.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Garland Ernest Edward Roberson, daughter Susan Phyllis Roberson and grandson Joseph Jamel Roberson.

Survivors include: five sons, Ernest and his wife, Barbara, of Nashville; Morris Edward and his wife, Catherine of Powhatan, VA; William “Billy” and his wife, Vanessa, of Nashville; Joseph Virgil, of Rocky Mount and Otis Keith, of the home; three daughters, Barbara Ann of Nashville; Lou Jennie of New York and Carol Delois of Wilson; a special grandson she raised, Garland Keith Sweeting; one sister, Catherine Lucas of Washington, D.C; five sisters-in-law, Cleo Battle, Naomi Harris, Dora Battle, Inez Dade and Lucille Cook; 17 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Union Hill Baptist Church in Nashville. Rev. Thomas McCullers will officiate. The interment will take place immediately following the service in the Union Hill Cemetery in Nashville.
