David Griffin Leonard, 65, passed away, Wednesday, January 9, 2013. He was born July 27, 1947. He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Leonard, his wife, Renee Strickland and his brother, Kemp Leonard.

He is survived by his mother, Louise Griffin Leonard Harper (Linwood) of Castalia, one daughter, Amy Lee Leonard Holiday (Darek) of Seattle, WA, one son, David Lawrence Leonard (Jennifer) of Nashville, two step-sons, Scott Hicks (Leigh) of Winston-Salem and Mark Hicks (Susie) of Richmond, VA; one sister, Debbie Leonard Marks (E.K.) of Nashville, sister-in-law, Barbara Boone of Rocky Mount, brother-in-law, Charles Strickland of Rocky Mount and ten grandchildren.

A memorial service was held January 11, 2013  at Philadelphia Baptist Church on Taylor Store Road with the Rev. Albie Brice officiating.
