ROCKY MOUNT – Charles William Eggers (Poppie), passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. He was born on September 16, 1924 in Carteret County to the late Cora Lee and Charles Edward Eggers. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Dobbins Eggers of 39 years.

He is survived by his children; Ronald Edward Eggers and wife Carolyn, Teresa Eggers Morris and husband Tommy, Richard Lee Eggers and Mickie, Kim Eggers Page and husband Tim; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials to the Youth Group of First Christian Church, 1101 West Haven Blvd., Rocky Mount, NC 27804.

A graveside service was  held Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.

Arrangements are entrusted to Wheeler Woodlief Funeral Home, 1130 N. Winstead Ave., Rocky Mount.
