Edith Mae Sorrell Bone of Rocky Mount, passed away  on November 4, 2012 at age 86 at Sailor’s Snug Harbor in Sea Level, NC.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Marion Bone; parents, John Lloyd Sorrell, Sr. and Mae Johnson Sorrell; sisters, Mary Sorrell Townsend and Hilda Sorrell Willoughby; and brothers, Dr. William Richard Sorrell and John Lloyd Sorrell, Jr.

Mrs. Bone is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Jean Sorrell and Donald Jackson of Morehead City; brothers-in-law, Dr. Gordon Townsend, Sr. and Johnny Willoughby, Sr. both of Dunn; sister-in-law, Mary Henry Sorrell of Greensboro; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation, 225 N. Michigan Ave, Chicago, IL 60601-7633.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at Pineview Cemetery in Rocky Mount.
