Gladys Barnes Proctor, age 86, passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2012. Born in Nash County on September 12, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Elisha Ozzie Barnes and Emma Davis Barnes. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Clay Proctor; sister, Agnes Barnes and Mae Elks; and brothers, James Barnes, Carl Barnes, and Joe Barnes.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Kay Proctor; sister, Vera Bell; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

A graveside service was held October 20, 2012 at Rocky Mount Memorial Park with Rev. Wayne Mills officiating.
