NASHVILLE -Jerry Levern Baker, 68, passed away Monday, September 3, 2012. He was born October 21, 1943 in Nash County to the late Lacy and Geneva Joyner Baker. Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Ginger Layton Baker and a brother, Arnold Baker.

Survivors include: two sons, Tim Baker and wife, Denise of Stanhop and Justin Lewis of Chattanooga, Tennessee; two daughters, Angela Carol Baker of Norfolk, Virginia and Mary Ann Brantley and husband, Jeff, of Bailey; one brother, Garry Baker of Sandy Cross; two sisters, Peggy Tyson of Sandy Cross and Jeanette Cantrell and husband, Jerry of Rocky Mount; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 6, 2012 from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Friday, September 7, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Fellowship of Praise Church of God at 3201 Benvenue Road, Rocky Mount with the Dr. Dal Coppedge, Rev. Daniel Moss and Rev. Elaine Swanson officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
