Dallas Ray Edwards, 103, died Friday, August 24, 2012 at his residence.

A graveside service was conducted on Sunday, August 26, 2012 in Peachtree Baptist Church Cemetery at  2 p.m. with Rev. Eugene Whitehouse officiating.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Lessie E. Thompson, brothers, Curtis , Cecil, Lowell and Robert Lee Edwards.

Dallas was born on February 6,1909, the oldest son of Charlie R. and Fannie Vick Edwards.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Ozelle Matthews Edwards of the home; son, Melvin Ray Edwards of Spring Hope; brothers, Fred Edwards of New Port News, Virginia; Alvin Edwards of Spring Hope; eleven nieces and nephews.
