Charles Douglas Long, 88, passed away Wednesday August 8, 2012. He was born May 1, 1924 in Nash County to the late Avery C. and Effie Sherrod Long. Charles was preceded in death by a brother, Pershing Long and a sister, Gertrude Cooper.

 He is survived by his wife Doris Skinner Long, son, K. Douglas Long and wife Kay, daughter, Janice Long Daniels and husband Allen, three sisters, Virginia Winstead, Myrtie Davis and Thula Winstead, four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

A graveside service was held Friday August 10, 2012 at Forest Hill Cemetery of Nashville. Arrangments by Cornerstone Funeral Home, Nashville.
