Shirley Stephens Joyner, 75 passed away at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville on Thursday June 7, 2012.

Shirley was born in Nash County on October 10, 1936. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Joyner, a daughter, Norma Land and a son Gary Joyner and two grandchildren.

She is survived by daughters Pamela Baker of Rocky Mount and Gail Robbins (Norwood McPhail) of Elm City; son Steve Joyner (Shelia) of Rocky Mount; brother Tony Stephens (Susan) of Rocky Mount and brother-in-law J. Crisp also of Rocky Mount; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held Sunday, June 10 at 3pm at Johnson Funerals and Cremations, 661 English Road Rocky Mount. Burial was at Mill Branch Cemetery, Rocky Mount.
