Dorothy Holland Hardy, 87, passed away Tuesday May 29, 2012. She was born May 6, 1925 in Nash County. Dorothy was the daughter of the late Arthur Thomas and Patty Thorne Holland.  Dorothy was preceded in death by a daughter, Jackie Hardy, four brothers; A.T. Jr., Wilbur, Bill and Millard, three sisters; Doretha, Eloise and Eva.

She is survivied by her husband of almost 70 years, Sam N. Hardy, one son, Sam N. Hardy Jr. and wife Joan, one daughter, Joy Fowler and husband Mac, one brother, Gene Holland and wife Eloise, one sister, Lynn Hicks, four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was held Thursday May 31, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Forest Hill Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project, call to make donations(877) 958-2233.
