Russell Anderson Braswell, 86, of Rocky Mount died on Sunday, May 13, 2012.

Mr. Braswell was born August 17, 1925, in Nash County to the late Jacob Thomas and Ida Pearl Womble Braswell. He was preceded in death by his brothers George, James, David, Willard, Dewey, and Edward.

Mr. Braswell is survived by his wife of 63 years, Theresa Edwards Braswell, and children: Kenneth Russell Braswell and wife, Amy, of Ahoskie; Martha B. Bateman and husband, Kirk, of Wilmington; and Janice B. Parker and husband, Max, of Deltaville, VA. He is also survived by five grandchildren and one great grandchild. He is also survived by sisters-in-law Marie Braswell, Mike Braswell and Marzillia Braswell.

A funeral service will be held at Englewood Baptist Church on Wednesday morning at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Pineview Cemetery.
