Joyce Moore Evans, 73 passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2012.

Joyce was born on May 12, 1938 to the late Albert Lee and Clara Rice Moore. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Virgil Lee Evans and his parents Thomas William and Verla Gardner Evans; her daughter, Pamela Evans Bass;  her Brother, Donald Moore;  and her Brothers-in-law, Bob Hutzler, George Matthews, and Bobby Edwards.

Joyce is survived by her sons Virgil L. Evans, II and Thomas A. Evans; five grandchildren; sisters Emma Hutzler, Kay Strickland and husband Al, Faye Booth and husband Russell, Annette Buchan and husband Tucker; Brothers, George Moore and wife Marie, and Ronald Moore and wife Linda; sisters-in-law Phyllis Edwards and Mildred Matthews and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held  Sunday, March 18, 2012   in the Chapel of Cornerstone Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Roberson officiating. Burial was at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
