James Allen, age 79 of Nashville passed away January 19, 2012.

A funeral service was held  Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Bunn Chapel Baptist Church, Nashville. Burial, Oakland Cemetery, Nashville. Arrangements by William Toney’s Funeral Home, Spring Hope.

He is survived by his children, Donnell Allen (Brenda) of Rolesville, Angela Tabron of Spring Hope, James F. Allen (Vernell) of Castalia, Mary Boose of Lillington, Myrtle Drake of Union, New Jersey, Brenda Rorie (David) of Columbia, MD, and Eunice Boose (Roosevelt) of Rocky Mount; sister, Mary A. Bryant (Dolphus) of Nashville;  and three brothers, Herbert Battle and Nathan Allen both of Gastonia and Jasper Allen (Evelyn) of Louisburg; one brother-in law, Rev. Jimmie Arrington; 27 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
