Betty Johnson Arnold, age 70, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2012. Born in Johnston County on February 18, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Albert B. Johnson and Beatrice E. Johnson.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Robert C. Arnold Jr.; two daughters, Linda A. Mull and husband David, and Deborah A. Wass; son-in-law, Craig Wass; eight grandchildren;  and four great-grandchildren; brothers, Ray Johnson, Braxton Johnson and wife Nancy, Ronnie Johnson and wife Debi, Ricky Johnson; numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home, Rocky Mount.Burial was at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
