Margie Inez Barnes Batchelor, 87, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2012.  Born in Edgecombe County on March 6, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Jerry Roscoe and Gladys Hathaway Barnes.

She is survived by her four  children; Barbara Batchelor of Nashville, Thomas Batchelor and wife, Elaine of Fayetteville, Dianna Batchelor and husband, Richard Dingfield of Nashville, David Batchelor and wife Carol of  Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas; daughter in law, Marcia Batchelor of Lacey, Washington; eleven grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband, Hardy Elmo Batchelor and a son, Hardy Elmo Batchelor, Jr.

A memorial service was held at 7 p.m. Friday, January 20, 2012 at Cornerstone Funeral Home with Pastor Mel Winstead officiating.  Burial was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Lafayette Memorial Cemetery in Fayetteville.
