Ralph Whitehurst, 82, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2012.

The funeral service was conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Hickory Grove Free Will Baptist Church officiated by the Rev. Doug Tyson. Burial followed in Bethel Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his parents, W.K. and Caddie Warren Whitehurst; his wife of 62 years, Louise Whitehurst, his daughter June Whitehurst; five brothers, Marvin, Cliff, Cecil, Joe, and Dean Whitehurst, and sister, Peggy Everett.

He is survived by two granddaughters; five great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth W. Manning, of Whitehurst Station; brother, John Whitehurst and wife, Barbara, of Rocky Mount; sisters in-law, Shirley Whitehurst, of Whitehurst Station, Pearl Whitehurst, of Rocky Mount, and Grace Whitehurst, of Robersonville; and brother in-law, Clayton Everette, of Goldsboro.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to the youth at Hickory Grove FWB Church, 5547 NC Hwy 30 Robersonville, NC 27871.
