NASHVILLE - Basil Lee Allen, 79, died on Sunday, January 1, 2012.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 1 p.m. from Red Oak Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. J.B. Woodhouse officiating. Burial will follow in the Spring Hope Memorial Garden Cemetery.

Wake services will be held at Richardson Funeral Home in Nashville on Friday, January 6, 2012 from 3 until 7 p.m.

Survivors include his wife, Lorene Allen of the home; two daughters, Stephanie Allen and Stacee Allen, both of Cary; one son, Steven W. Allen of Raleigh; three sisters, Georgia Foster, of Cumberland, VA, Martha Harris, of Arlington, VA and Jean Settle of Piscataway, NJ; one brother, Barry Allen of Farmville; and one grandchild.
