Charles Wesley Snellgrove, 87, died Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at Nash General Hospital. Charles was born January 8, 1924 in Houston County, Alabama to the late Charlie and Essie Lashley Snellgrove and was preceded in death by a son, Wesley Snellgrove and a daughter, Janice Cummings.

He is survived by his wife, Thelma Church Snellgrove, five sons; Charles W. Snellgrove, Jr. and his wife, Launa of Green Cove Springs, FL, Donald Joseph Snellgrove, of Jacksonville Beach, FL, Rickey Joe Snellgrove, of Baldwin, FL, Paul Jeffrey Lane of Haslet, TX and Michael Albert McKoy of Rocky Mount, daughters; Helen Annette Padgett and husband Charlie, of Green Cove Springs, FL, Branda Sue Merritt and husband Don, of Greenwood, SC, sister; Meta Dillard of Dothan, AL and brother; Lloyd Snellgrove also of Dothan, AL, 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday December 10, 2011 at the House of Resurrection Church in Whitakers. Burial followed in the Whitakers Town Cemetery.
