Joyce Annette Parker Lewis, age 68, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2011. Born in Whitakers on May 23, 1943, she is the daughter of the late Willie “Billy” Smith Parker and Margaret Phelps Parker.

Survivors include: three daughters, Brenda Sue Hamm and husband Robert of Battleboro, Kathy Warner Melton of Whitakers and Billie Jo Lewis Arellano and husband Lorenzo of Whitakers; one son, Gerald Edward Warner, Jr. and wife Donna of Rocky Mount; four grandchildren; four step grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; and one step great-great grandchild. She is also survived by her sister, Martha Parker Worrells of Whitakers; brothers, William Thomas “Pete” Parker and wife Ruth of Rocky Mount and Ben Edward Parker Sr. and wife Laura of South Mills NC; three nephews and 1 niece.

A funeral service was held at 7 p.m. on Friday, December 02, 2011 at Wheeler Woodlief Funeral Home with Rev. J. A. Brickhouse officiating. Burial was private at Whitakers Cemetery.
