Claudia Proctor Whitley passed away on Friday, November 25, 2011. She was born on September 5, 1932 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Paul Dewey Proctor, Sr. and Mae Penn Proctor. Claudia was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Dewey Proctor, Jr. and his wife Frances Yost Proctor.

Claudia is survived by her husband of 61 years, David Blount Whitley, Sr. and their children, David Blount Whitley, Jr. (Kelly), Paula Whitley Asbell (Rick), Susan Whitley Thomas (Roy); two granddaughters; sister, Betty Proctor Lelekacs (John). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and other relatives.

 A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Monday, November 28, 2011 at First Baptist Church in Rocky Mount. Burial was at Pineview Cemetery.
