Darlene Strickland Gurkin, age 65 of Rocky Mount passed away at her home on November 17, 2011. She is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Blanche Strickland.

She is survived by her daughter Shannon Lashley and Maureen Daly of Rocky Mount; son Scott Gurkin and wife, Becky of Raleigh; two grandsons; brother, C.E. Strickland, Jr. and wife, Ginger, of Nashville.

A funeral service was held Sunday, November 20, 2011 at 2 pm in the Chapel of Johnson Funerals and Cremations, 661 English Rd., Rocky Mount. The interment followed the service at Pineview Cemetery.
