Marion Barkley Luper, 93 passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2011. She was born in Enfield, NC on December 10, 1917 to the late Clifton Barkley and Pearl Braswell. Marion was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Richard Edward Luper; brothers Ferdie Barkley of Enfield, and Victor Barkley of San Antonio, TX, and son-in-law Al Dunbar, Jr of Rocky Mount.

She is survived by her daughters: Janet Gurganus and husband Ed of Rocky Mount, Carol Barnhill and husband Mike of Rocky Mount, Norma Stockhowe and her husband George of Chesapeake, VA, Donna Collins and her husband Mark of Chesterfield, VA; sons: Steven Luper and his wife Eva of Sharpsburg, and Roger Luper and his wife Patricia of Rocky Mount; sisters: Gwendolyn Wilson of Wilson and Vera Felton of Kinston; sister-in-law: Maebelle Barkley of Rocky Mount, 16 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held November 12, 2011 at 3 p.m. at Living Faith Fellowship Church on West Mount Drive. Burial was at Pineview Cemetery.
