Francie Joyner Smith, age 62, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2011. She was born on March 29, 1949 in Nash County to Oliver D. Joyner and the late Geneva Beaman Joyner. She married Charles David Smith on November 29, 1968.

Francie is survived by her father, Oliver D. Joyner (Ruth); her  husband of 42 years, Charles David Smith; their two daughters, Deana Baker (James Battle) of Nashville NC and Wendy Ziegler (Gerald) of Morrisville; four grandchildren; brother, Kenneth Joyner (Judy) of Wilmington.

A funeral service was held at 3 p.m. at Wheeler Woodlief Funeral Home with Pastor Justin Nale officiating. Burial was at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
