Gilbert Benjamin Fisher, 78, died Thursday, October 5, 2011.  He was born June 23, 1933 in Nash County, son of the late Alphonso Jackson and Annie Moore Fisher.   

Mr. Fisher is survived by three sons, Shelton Fisher and wife Ann of Whitakers, Charlie Fisher and wife Karen of Lake Alfred, FL, and G. W. Fisher of Red Oak; daughters Janie Andrien and husband Jeff of Bartow, FL and Gloria Arthur of Red Oak; thirteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren; and Doris Fisher (mother of his children).

A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 7, 2011 at Cornerstone Funeral Home, Nashville. Burial followed at Red Oak Cemetery.
