Carl Shelton Briggs, age 74 of Rocky Mount passed away August 13, 2011 in the Nash General Hospital.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Marriott and Maude Briggs, sons: Glenn, Joseph and Bobby, sisters: Elizabeth Bulluck, brothers: Rylan, Lynn and Allen Briggs

His is survived by his wife Iva Adams Briggs of the home, two daughters, Cindy Jones of Elm City, Denise Kannon and husband Mike of Elm City; one son Kenneth and Ava Addington of Louisburg; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; six brothers, John, Wood, Bob, Bill, Kemp, Joe Briggs; two sisters, Margaret Hayes, Ann Wrenn.

Funeral services were held Tuesday August 16, 2011 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Johnson Funerals and Cremations, 661 English Road, with Buddy Moss officiating. The interment followed in the Mill Branch Cemetery.
