Rachel B. Baines, 92, died Thursday, July 14, 2011. She was born October 21, 1918 in Nash County, daughter of the late Louis and Lessie Manning Bass.  She was the widow of the late Woodrow Baines and was also preceded in death by one grandson.

She is survived by sons, Nelson Baines and wife Patsy and Jerry Baines and wife Diane all of Nashville; daughters Peggy Manning and husband Stanley of Nashville and Jewel Kichak and husband John of Cary; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

 A funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 16, 2011 at Momeyer Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Arnold officiating.  Burial followed in the Baines Family Cemetery, Nashville.  The family  received friends at Cornerstone Funeral Home from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Friday, July 15, 2011.  Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to Momeyer Baptist Church Senior Citizens Fund, 4967 Momeyer Way, Nashville, NC 27856.
