Rhada Stallings Matthews, 100, died Friday, July 15, 2011.  She was born on December 3rd, 1910 in Nash County, daughter of the late Oliver and Martha Ann Stallings.  She was the widow of the late Earnest Oliver Matthews and was also preceded in death by one sister and four brothers.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews and two special great-great nieces. 

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 17, 2011 at Momeyer Baptist church with Rev. Paul Arnold and Rev. Morris Hollifield officiating.  Burial followed at the Matthews Family Cemetery in White Oak.  The family received friends from 1:30 until 3 p.m. at Momeyer Baptist Church.  Flowers will be accepted, however, contributions may also be made to Momeyer Baptist Church Building Fund or Hospice and Palliative Care of Nash General.
