NASHVILLE - Funeral services for John K. Evans, 66, who died on Sunday, June 12, 2011 were held on Saturday, June 18, at 2 p.m. at Union Hill Baptist Church. Burial followed in the Oakland Cemetery with Bishop Carl Brown officiating.

Surviving: wife, Lorraine Evans of the home; daughters, Tonya Chappell of Fredricksburg, Va., Debra Nicholson of Newport News, Va.; sons, Kelsey L. Evans of Wendell, David Ritchie, Starzen Norman; sisters, Roemenia Moore of Kershaw, S.C., Dorothy Richardson of Spring Hope; brothers, Willie Evans and Cliften Mills, both of Newport News, Va.; 13 grandchildren.

Visitation was from 3-8 p.m. on  Friday, June 17 at Richardson Funeral Home in Nashville.
