George William Strickland, 75, passed away June 09, 2011. Born July 17, 1935 in Battleboro, he was the son of the late Laverne Strickland and Lorelle Fauntleroy Strickland.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Margaret “Peggy” T. Strickland; daughters, Toni Melton and husband Bob of Nashville and Lee Rhodes of Pine Level; son, Bill Strickland; four grandchildren ; one great-granddaughter; brother, Laverne Strickland and wife Durene of Wilmington; and three nephews.

 Visitation with the family was from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 10, 2011 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Friends of Hospice of Nash General, 2460 Curtis Ellis Drive, Rocky Mount NC 27804.
