NASHVILLE - Funeral services for R.C. Cox Sr., 71, who died Monday, May 23, 2011, were Saturday, May 28 at 2 p.m. at Richardson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in the Oakland Cemetery with Elder Ernestine Lynch officiating.

Surviving: wife, Mamie Cox of the home; daughters, Norma Whitaker,  Jeannette Cox, Jewel Evans, Joan Lucas, all of Nashville; son, R.C. Cox Jr. of Middleton N.J.; sisters, Joan Debro, Diane Savage, Rebecca Harrison, all of Rocky Mount, Celeste Eburg of Nashville; brothers, Sam Savage, John Savage, James Earl Cox, all of Rocky Mount; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation was Friday, May 27, from 3-8 p.m. at Richardson Funeral Home in Nashville.
