SPRING HOPE- A going home celebration was held on Monday, April 11, 2011 for Florine E. Greene, age 88. 

She was born in Nash County on February 3, 1923 to the late Henry May and Lula Boone Edwards.

 She is survived by a daughter, Flora G. Powell and her husband, Joe and one son, Jimmie M. Greene and his wife, Barbara, all of Spring Hope. She is also survived by six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

 Mrs. Greene was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert McKinley Greene, seven brothers, Jack, Joe, George, Hilliard, Billy May, David and Julian Edwards and a sister, Lizzie Mae Edwards Green.

 Funeral services were at Spring Hope Funeral Home, Monday, April 11, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Dennis Sherrod and Mr. Joseph Powell officiating.  Visitation was from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.. prior to the service.  Burial followed in Spring Hope Memorial Gardens immediately after the service.
