DOROTHY R. BRINKLEY


ROCKY MOUNT - Dorothy Richardson Brinkley “Snoot”,  73, died March 24 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Preceding her in death was her son, John Richardson.

Surviving: children, Rosalyn Brinkley, Joyce Perry and Bobby Brinkley all of Spring Hope, Nathan Brinkley (Jessie) of Las Vegas, Nevada, Iretha Alston of Rocky Mount, Lee Brinkley of Wilson; sisters, Annie Ruth Battle (Lee) of Rocky Mount, Evelyn Davis (Robert) of Spring Hope, Ella Mae Battle (John) of Spring Hope, Lucy Richardson of Florida, Mary Webb of Washington, DC; brothers, Rev. Bobby Richardson (Audrey) of Spring Hope, Matthew Richardson (Laura) of Spring Hope; nine grandchildren including two special grandchildren, Iesha Deans and Quentin (Dinky) Alston; five great-grandchildren; special friends, Jessie Edwards of Irvington, N.J. and Solomon Maryland of Rocky Mount; aunts, Eloise Williams of Castalia and Tassie Strickland of Spring Hope; uncle, John Wiggins of Spring Hope; great-aunt, Josie Richardson of Nashville; great-uncle, Sidney M. Coppedge of Nashville; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, April 4 at Word Tabernacle, Rocky Mount.

Visitation was from 3-7 p.m. Sunday, April 3 at William Toney’s Funeral Home, Spring Hope.
