William Greene Daughtridge, 90, passed away Monday, January 17, 2011. Greene was born February 7, 1920 in Rocky Mount, NC to Lester and Mary Daughtridge, the second oldest of six children.

Greene was preceded in death by his sister, Nona Anderson and brothers, Lester “Teenie” Daughtridge, Joe Daughtridge, and Tom Daughtridge.

Greene is survived by his wife, Lona Daughtridge of Rocky Mount; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Louis Pitt of Pinetops; son, Wayne Daughtridge of Nashville; son, Richard Daughtridge of Rocky Mount; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Beth Daughtridge of Pinetops. He is also survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Alice and Clarence Odom of Rocky Mount, 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandhchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 12 to 2 pm Thursday, January 20, 2011 prior to the funeral services at 2 pm in Johnson’s Chapel on English Road. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
