Marvin Andrew Walton Sr., 82, passed away on Thursday. December 9, 2010. He was born August 7, 1928 in Nash County. He was the son of the late Stacy Beaman and Irene Walton. He is preceded in death by his wife Betty Jean Hogshire Walton, son Larry Walton, daughter Barbara Jean Joyner, two brothers, and one sister.
He is survived by two sons, Marvin Andrew Walton Jr. and wife Mary of Rocky Mount and Stanley Wall Bryant; one daughter Irene Walton Batchelor of Spring Hope; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Visitation was Saturday, December 11, 2010 from 7:00-9:00 pm at Cornerstone Funeral Home. Funeral services were held Monday, December 13, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Cornerstone Funeral Home with the Rev. Glenn Hill, Rev. Richard Collins, and Rev. Tim Parker officiating. Burial followed at Pineview Cemetery.
