VIRGINIA PENDLETON
NEW BERN – Virginia Lyons Pendleton, 94, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006 at Craven Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Dec. 4 at St. Paul's Catholic Church with Father Ernest J. Ruede officiating. Burial followed in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

She was born in Coalwood, W.Va., on March 17, 1912, the daughter of the late John and Bertha Thomas Lyons. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred B. Pendleton and a great-grandson, Andrew Paul Ochs.

Survivors include two sons, Rick Pendleton and wife Linda of Zebulon and Bill Pendleton and wife Sheryl of Ormond Beach. Fla.; three daughters, Mary Finney and Charles Toler of New Bern, Martha McCain and husband Deck of Nashville and Phoebe Bland and husband Marvin H. of Morganton; one brother, John Lyons of Corpus Christi, Texas; one sister, Mabel Young of Thomasville; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and very special friends, Lisa and Stephen Harrison of New Bern.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to St. Paul's Catholic Church Building Fund.
