MADISON AUGUSTUS (GUS) TAYLOR
Madison Augustus (Gus) Taylor, son of James Madison Taylor and Ruhama Henderson Taylor was born May 2, 1938 in Andalusia, Alabama. After a lengthy courageous battle with cancer, he passed away at home on June 3, 2010.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Vivian Gupton Taylor, son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Mary Helen Taylor and grandson, John Allan Taylor, three children from a previous marriage, Terri, Jimmy, Donald and grandson, Matthew.

Memorials may be made to Salem Baptist Church Building Fund, 4502 Swift Creek School Road, Whitakers NC 27891.

Visitation with the family was held from 7-8:30 p.m. Saturday, June 5, 2010 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home. A funeral service to remember Gus was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 6, 2010 at Salem Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
