AARON O. WHITLEY
Aaron O. Whitley, 88, passed away, Sunday, May 2, 2010 peacefully at his home. He was born March 15, 1922 in Nash County. He was the son of the late G.B. and Sally Strickland Whitley.  He was preceded in death by a son, Michael A. Whitley and great granddaughter, Ashlyn Brooke Poole; he was also preceded in death by 5 brothers and sisters.

 He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Rachel Boykin Whitley, one son, Doug Whitley and wife Ann C. of Rocky Mount, one brother, Floyd Whitley and wife Joyce of Middlesex, one sister, Victoria Caldwell and husband Nelson of Plant City, Florida; six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Cornerstone Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Blood and Dr. David Whitley officiating. Visitation followed the service. Entombment will be Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at 11:00Am at Oakdale Cemetery of Spring Hope, NC.
