Ward Drug hosts intern students
GOODNITE
Ward Drug Company of Nashville welcomed Marchelle Robinson and Susie Goodnite to the pharmacy team for the month of April.

Marchelle is a student at UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy.  She completed the first three years of her coursework at Elizabeth City State University as part of UNC Eshelman School of Phamacy’s partnership with Elizabeth City State University.  She will graduate in May 2010 with her Doctor of Pharmacy degree.  Marchelle was a member of Student National Pharmaceutical Association (SNPhA). Marchelle was born and raised in Wadesboro, NC and is the daughter of Martin and Denise Robinson.  She has a younger brother, Lemuel.  She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry Business from Wingate University in 2006.  Marchelle has almost 9 years of hospital pharmacy experience (Anson Community Hospital, Wadesboro, NC) and 1.5 years of community pharmacy experience.  Upon graduation, Marchelle plans to work in a community pharmacy.  Marchelle’s hobbies include working in her church, shopping, going to the movies, and traveling.

Susie is also a student at UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy and will graduate in May 2010 with her Doctor of Pharmacy degree. She was a member of the Carolina Association of Pharmacy Students, National Community Pharmacists Association, Christian Pharmacists Fellowship International, and the Geriatric Interest Group. Susie is originally from Princeton, WV. She is married to Justin Goodnite of Lenoir, NC, also a pharmacy student at UNC. Susie received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Concord College in 1999 and soon after came to North Carolina to teach chemistry at Westchester Academy in High Point. She later worked as a chemist at Greer Laboratories in Lenoir and then at Actavis in Lincolnton, concurrently working part time in community pharmacy. She anticipates working in community pharmacy upon her graduation in May.

Susie enjoys hiking in the mountains, cooking, reading, playing piano, and learning guitar.

Both Marchelle and Susie love talking to patients and using their knowledge to help answer questions. They have both expressed excitement for the opportunity to experience the diverse practice opportunities at Ward Drug Company of Nashville, learning more about complimentary alternative therapies and opportunities to solve patient problems through customized compounding of prescriptions, including for animal patients.

To inquire about any of these services, call 252-459-2135 and speak to pharmacist and owner, Gary Glisson, RPh. You may submit your health question to Ask the Pharmacist…Naturally at www.warddrug.com.
