Glenna Ray Bass Jones, 68, passed away Thursday, March 11, 2010. She was born June 15, 1941 in Nash County. She was the daughter of the late Oliver Curtis and Mattie Mavis Strickland.
She is survived by her husband Leslie H. Jones, Jr. of the home; her children, Diann Bowen and husband Bill of Pensacola, FL, Wanda Smith and husband Randy of Greenville, SC, Leslie Herbert Jones, III and wife Carie of Spring Hope, and Chris Jones of Pinehurst; thirteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren; three brothers, Tony Bass and wife Shelby of Rocky Mount, Jessie Bass and wife Margaret of Roanoke Rapids, and Eric Bass and wife Debbie of Nashville; and one sister, Lynn Bass of Rocky Mount.
The family received friends from 6:30 to 8:30 pm Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Johnson Funerals and Cremations on English Road. Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Pineview Cemetery in Rocky Mount. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Carpet Fund at Westview Baptist Church, 3408 Sunset Avenue, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
