Mt. Zion FWB Church News
Brother Bob welcomed everyone to Sunday school and reported 95 in attendance, with 6 visitors and two new members. Great! Zach Tyner read the bible verses for today. Saturday, March 5 will be Sunday School Institute at Mount Olive College. It is an interesting day of learning how to have a better Sunday school.

Our choir sang “Whisper a Prayer” for the call to worship. Algie Jones, Jr. shared greetings and led the opening hymn, “Heavenly Sunlight”. Another hymn was “Dwelling in Beulah Land”.

Many family members were present to see A.J. Jones baptized. He had accepted Jesus some time ago, and told the pastor he wanted to be baptized today. A.J. and the pastor entered the water and our pastor baptized little A.J. What a blessing to see young people accept Jesus. A.J.’s parents are Andy and Stacie Jones. His grandparents are Algie and Ina Jones, and Joan Miller and Tim Miller. He also has two sisters, Miller and Audrey Jones.

Children were dismissed for children’s church. “Thank you workers.” Usher, Greg Manning prayed the offertory prayer. We all sang the doxology in praise to God. Our choir sang “I’m Redeemed”.

Pastor Rogerson read Psalm 103:1-12 and titled his message, “Blessing in Confessing”. He said, “it takes courage to confess our sins before God and ask for forgiveness. But it is necessary in order to have a close relationship with God. Confession of our sin brings cleansing. Honest confession brings complete cleansing. Our sin is forgiven and forgotten by God. How wonderful! Consider the favor of God. He is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. What a wonderful God we have. When we confess our daily sins, God blots out the sins and gives us joy, peace and rest. Oh, the fullness of God’s grace. We should daily ask for God’s forgiveness of our sins, that we have done after we have been saved. Daily cleansing is necessary to keep our relationship with God close and what we desire. Confess all sin today and have God’s peace.

Opportunities for the week; Tuesday Mt. Zion seniors meet 12:00 noon at the Fellowship Center. Betty Drake will sing for us after lunch. We always look forward to hearing her sing for the glory of God. Friday at 6:30 p.m. the Men’s and Ladies’ Sunday school classes will have their dinner at the Fellowship Center. Saturday, the Cherubs will meet in Rocky Mount for bowling. Sunday, March 7 at 9 a.m. Sunday school kick-off breakfast; Bring a visitor. Revival begins March 21 with Rev. Ray Wells preaching.

Prayer concerns for all our shut ins, sick, military, missionaries, youth ministries and the world at large. Pray for one another.

Have a good and Godly week.
