ROCKY MOUNT – Elsie Gooch Abbott, 94, died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2006 at Autumn Care of Nashville. Graveside services were held on Oct. 12 at Pineview Cemetery with Mike Hinrichs officiating.
She was born Sept. 12, 1912 in Wilson County, the daughter of the late Thomas Amos Gooch and Elizabeth Bass Gooch. She was the widow of the late Julian Bryant (Brim) Abbott. Elsie was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kim Fuller Calhoun.
Survivors include three daughters, Alice Fuller and husband John Gilbert Fuller of Temperance Hall, Julia Manning and husband James Phillip Manning of Rocky Mount and Sarah Walston and husband Ronald "Bud" of Norfolk, Va.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
