LYNCHBURG, VA.- M. Frances Callahan Summers died Saturday, September 12, 2009, at Lynchburg General Hospital.
She was born to Eddie Lee Callahan, Sr. and Mattie Farrar Callahan April 19, 1937 at Opie in Mecklenburg County, Va.
Deceased are her parents and sister, Katherine C. Vajda, and a brother, Eddie Lee (Pete) Callahan, Jr. of South Hill, Va.
Surviving: sisters, Dorothy C. Fisher of Red Oak, Annie Laura Rice, of Chesapeake, Va., and Rose E. Callahan of Virginia Beach, Va.; brother, H. Thomas Callahan of Virginia Beach, Va.; brother-in-law, John Vajda of Williamsburg, Va.; sister-in-law, Barbara Callahan of South Hill, Va.; 10 nieces and nephews; 13 great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral service was conducted Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11 a.m. in the Herbert L. Farrar Funeral Home by Rev. Tim Irving.
The family received friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 7 - 8:30.
