ROCKY MOUNT -Annie Louise May Joyner, 82, died Tuesday, October 3, 2006. She was born in Nash County, August 30, 1924 daughter of the late Troy Young May and Annie Hendricks May.
Her parents, Troy Young May and Annie Hendricks May Barnes, son, Donald Earl Joyner, preceded her in death.
Those left to cherish the memory of her are husband, Ira Earl Joyner (61 years of marriage) of the home; granddaughter, Rebecca J. Moss of Wilson; grandsons, Jody Joyner of Raleigh, NC, Jeff Joyner of Castalia, NC and Andrew Joyner of Rocky Mount, NC; sister, Hazel May West of Battleboro, NC; three great-grandchildren, Cara Moss, Madison Hux and Ashleigh Joyner.
The family received friends from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. Thursday, October 5, 2006 at Johnson Funerals and Cremations, 1912 Sunset Avenue, Rocky Mount, NC.
A gathering to celebrate her life was held 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 6, 2006 at the funeral home. Burial followed at Pineview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Associations, 434 Fayetteville Street Mall, Two Hanover Square, Suite 1650, Raleigh, North Carolina 27601-1764.
