ROCKY MOUNT - Faye Shearin Taylor, age 83, passed away February 24, 2026. She was born in Edgecombe County, the third child born to Henry and Lannie Wilkins Shearin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Eugene Taylor and son, Ronald "Ronnie" Taylor.

She is survived by her siblings, Barbara Berry of Williamsburg, VA, Charlie Shearin and wife, Jan of Elm City, Margaret Shearin West of Nashville, Tony Shearin and wife, Shirley of Lake Gaston and David Shearin and wife, Vicki of Las Vegas, NV; brother-in-law, Ray Taylor and wife, Jean of Rocky Mount; nieces, nephews and other extended relatives.

A service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 1, 2026 at Oak View Baptist Church, 2412 Arlington Street, Rocky Mount. Interment will follow at Pineview Cemetery, Rocky Mount. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Oak View Baptist Church.
