ROCKY MOUNT - Marvin Ray Taylor, age 81, passed away on Friday, August 29, 2025. He was born in Edgecombe County on July 3, 1944 to George W. and Dora Dew Taylor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Penny Baker Taylor; brother, Pete Taylor; sisters, Lois Turner and Jean Lewis.

He is survived by his son, Ray Taylor and wife, ReneƩ of Elm City; daughters, Lorie Styles and husband, Anthony of Rocky Mount, Tammy Turner and husband, Benji of Nashville; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 from 6-8 p.m. at Davis-Little Funerals, Rocky Mount. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on September 3, 2025 at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
