Blackwell Bennett Pierce, known to all as "Blacky," passed away on June 9, 2025, at age 86, He was born on June 10, 1938, in Weldon.

He is survived by his three children, Nicholas Pierce, Bennett Pierce, and Beau Pierce; seven grandchildren; his sister, Agnes Atwill, and brother-in-law Dr. Bill Atwill.

A service was held at his farm on June 14, 2025. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of ones choice.
