ROCKY MOUNT - Ellen Piper Shearin Bass, age 67, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2025. She was born on July 10, 1957 in Nash County to William and Eileen Gundacker Shearin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Preston Bass and brothers-in-law, Robert D. Smith and George Lancaster.
She is survived by her son, Billy Bass (Emily) of Rocky Mount and their children; four grandchildren; siblings, Debbie Shearin Smith of Nashville and Beth Shearin Hogan (Dave) of Lexington, SC; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Lancaster of Rocky Mount.
The family will host a visitation from 5- 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at the Nashville Community Building, 403 S. Alston Street, Nashville.
