DIXIE OWENS LEWIS

WILSON - Dixie Owens Lewis passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2025.

She was born in Edgecombe County on August 23, 1942, the oldest of five daughters and one son born to Richard and Annie Cummings Owens. In addition to her parents, Dixie was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond T. Lewis; brother, Sam Owens; and sisters, Priscilla Bryant and Diane Oakey.

She is survived by her children, Robert B. Jones, Jr. (Delance) of Elm City, Jenny Jones Gilbert (Lewis) of Nashville, and Lorie Lewis Ellis (Alex) of Wilson; and sisters, Melvina "Bug" Gallinato (Jerry) and Vickie Roberson (Joe), all of Williamston; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives.

A service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 15, 2025 at Maccripine FWB Church, 5815 NC 111, Macclesfield. Burial will follow at Macclesfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 1:00 - 1:45pm, and other times at the home.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Maccripine Free Will Baptist Church.
