VIRGIL DEAN "BUTCH" JOYNER

BATTLEBORO - Virgil Dean "Butch" Joyner, age 67, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2024. Born in Edgecombe County on July 24, 1956, he was the son of the late Cecil Durwood Joyner.

Butch is survived by his daughters, McCauley Pearson (Samuel) and Kelly Lancaster (William); two grandchildren; his mother, Dorothy Marie Adkins Joyner; his sisters, Angela Barnes (Bo) and Kim Eason (Rodney); his brother, Randy Joyner (Jennifer); and many nieces and nephews.

A special gathering of family and friends to celebrate Butch's life will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024, from 3-5 p.m. at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Rocky Mount.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Butch's name to either Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306, or to the Nash County Sheriff's Department, P.O. Box 355, Nashville, NC 27856.
