Betty "Polly" Joyner Melton, 93, passed away December 24, 2023. She was born November 9, 1930 in Nash County to the late Lucille Long Joyner and James Henry Joyner. Betty was preceded in death by her husband Nathan Josh Melton; sister, Audrey Hooker; brothers Louis, Ed, Gordon and William (Bill) Joyner.

She is survived by a son, Nathan (Jay) Melton (Charlene); three daughters Linda Lou Griffin, Debbie Melton and Susan Hughes (Mike); three grandchildren; two great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 6, 2024 in the Chapel of Cornerstone Funeral Home at 11 a.m. with Rev. Chris Hall officiating. Visitation with family and friends will follow.
